Asus’ Quad-core Transformer Pad 300 is hitting the US shelf on April 22

Asus' latest Transformer Pad 300 is going to land in the U.S. on April 22.

The Transformer Pad 300 accommodates a quad-core Tegra 3 processor from Nvidia, 1GB of Ram, and 16GB/32GB of storage which of course can be expanded using an micro SD card. It will run Google's latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the 10 inch, 1280x800  screen, which I think is adequate. The new IPAD’s 2048x1536resolution is nothing more than a technology showcase. On a 9.7 inch screen, such high resolution it can do no more than stress the GPU and drain the battery. I am still happily using a TC4400 which has a 1024x768 on its 12 inch screen and my 27inch Dell monitor only has a resolution of 1920x1200 and it never cause me trouble while using Photoshop. Again, this is a personal view. If you have eagle eyes for pixel and carrying a magnifying glass with you all the time or just love everything with a half-eaten apple logo, please ignore me.

On the wireless connectivity side, the tablet offer4G LTE in addition to the regular Wi-Fi, 3G and BT. It has a battery life of 10 hours which can be extended to 15 hours with the optional keyboard dock.

The tablet will start at $399 which means the starting price will be about £399 when it lands in UK.
